About us

Though
its roots go back to the 1870’s, the present day firm was established
in 1927 as O Hanlon & Robinson. In 1948 it became T. P. Robinson &
Co. and moved to its present location in 1965. In 1998 the name was shortened
to TP Robinson Solicitors. The office building is an early Georgian house
dating from around 1751 which predates the laying out of the rest of Merrion
Square. It has a fine plasterwork ceiling in the former drawingroom, a detail
of which is incorporated in the firm’s logo. Former owners and inhabitants
include Eileen Burke, Dowager Lady Howth in 1842, Oscar Wilde's brother
William Wilde and his half brother Henry Wilson in 1877 and Andrew Horne,
Master of Holles Street Hospital from 1909. Prior to the building of the
new Liberty Hall, it was the headquarters of the ITGWU (now SIPTU). A listed
building, it has been sympathetically maintained and restored, and provides
a convenient central location for our clients. Parking is available on Merrion
Square outside |
